i have this video on a cd that i really want to play. its an avi file, but all i can get to play is the sound. ive tried QT with like every codec ever, and VLC, and both just play the sound of the video. i tried playing it on my PC with WMP, and i got a message saying i needed something like indios codec? and that only played the sound too

i tried googling indios codec and just got spanish sites

can anyone help? thanks

I think you are looking for "Indeo" codecs, not "Indio". If you Google Indeo, you should be able to find the codecs that you need.

oh thanks

is there a program that i could use to convert this to a file playable in QT?

The Indeo codec (originally from Intel) is now supported by Ligos
"Indeo for Macintosh Platforms
Indeo codecs are no longer offered by Apple for Macintosh platforms or QuickTime. There are no plans for an OS X version of the Indeo codecs."

Doesn't look good, unless you know someone who can convert it on a PC for you.

hmmm....ok well then would i be able to copy it to my PC, then convert it to a file type that can play in QT or VLC?

ah thank you

any good programs on windows for converting to .avi or .mpg or a more universal format?
