Need help running windows games on mac

There are probably threads about this already but im looking for a detailed tutorial on how to run windows games on my new macbook pro.

I've researched and learned about Boot Camp and all that but how do i get Leopard, Windows Xp, and Boot Camp?

Also, i have the new $1100 macbook pro so how do i check my specs to know which games i can play or not?

If you have a new MBP, you can find Boot Camp in Applications / Utilities / Boot Camp Assistant.

To get Windows XP look somewhere to buy software, like an electronics retail shop or online, like eBay.

To know if a game works on your Mac, got to www.apple.com/macbookpro and look at the Technical Specifications for your Mac.
If your Mac is not listed there, go to www.everymac.com.
Then go to the game's official website and look at the system requirements, also a www search for your game and the words "system requirements" could bring up some results.

Also MRoogle is quite a good tool to search these forums.

Look at the appropriate sub-fora to find many stickies and guides with links in it.

Cool stuff is a broad term, and I detest "cool" somehow.

Get to know your system first before you install anything out of the ordinary, unless you are very savvy with computers.
Installing many new software before you really know what you are doing might result in a bad experience.

Thanks, I know enough, which may not be much.

But I had my share of experience with fubar situations on my first Mac, so that's where that advice is coming from. But as long as you keep some backup you can experiment all you want. It might give you the experience and knowledge, even though it can be rougher.

not gonna learn much about it by just running Windows and turning it into a Windows PC.

If you really want to get into Mac gaming, look into people making unofficial Wine and Cider based ports, where you can run things with no Windows needed...

check the forums at http://www.portingteam.com/ its a little community all based around gaming in Mac OS X... mainly about Windows only games running without Windows, where people make their own wrappers and share them with others.
