This is what I have now:
24" Imac, 300gb, 150 free
15" MacbookPro, 300 gb, 215 Free
Apple TV, 40 gb, with nothing on it.
Time Capsule w/500gb
WD Mybook 500gb, 317 Free running superduper off Imac

Just got me a Lacie 2T and want to do this:
Store all of my Itunes (music and DVD's I've starting ripping) on it and be able to access from Laptop and ATV.
Back-up all of the files on the Imac and Laptop.

Should I just plug it into the imac via fw800 and format it as one large drive? What if I get another and want to use their RAID
What about the Mybook? Daisy chain to Lacie and keep superduper? Or connect to TC?

I'm pretty anal about backing up after losing all of my data after the Gustav last summer. Thanks for your help.

Well, I have installed the 2T as a large drive off of the imac. Moving all of my itune library over to it now.
Still have the mybook set up as a bootable disk off chained off of the Lacie.
Hopefully, the ATV can find it and stream and I can delete all of the files off of the imac.

I have a 2TB, but raided via software so all iTunes media is on both 1TB internal drives. This way I don't feel it's necessary to have yet another external drive. Also backing up to this 2TB.

be careful w/ the Lacie 2TB's

be careful w/ the Lacie 2TB's...

I have had two of them DIE on me in the past 3 months. Worthless pieces of ****. Only a matter of time until my third one stops working.

Great. Bought them from the local Apple Store and they said they use them in the back for their storage.
