I've been trying to get my college email setup on my iphone. (2g OS 3.0 on tmobile if that changes anything)

First I called the IT help desk and they said students aren't allowed to access their email through anything but Outlook Web Access (OWA) on a browser. I know for a fact students have it working on their blackberry though and the help desk just keeps saying we're not allowed, not that its not possible.

I've tried setting it up through exchange as well as a custom IMAP email with no success. I cant figure out the correct settings for the server and host names...

I really would like to have easy access to my email without having to use safari on my iphone.

my email domain is

@mymail.tcc.fl.edu

OWA domain is

https://mymail.tcc.fl.edu/OWA/

Any advice?

I have a similar situation. Im at UCF (Central Florida) and all ours is at knights.edu but.... its a windows live account. No outlook owa we just use the windows live website to log in (still all routed through hotmail though). The server settings that worked are

POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes

Try setting up a desktop client like thunderbird (free) or outlook if you have it and just see what works there, much faster than using the iphones mail interface and less frustrating. Then just copy the settings. Should be the same setup. If you have a mac i think mail.app makes it even easier and should try to look up the credentials for you.
