Need help, text comes up in the middle of the screen in lockscreen

I thought when you get a text on the lockscreen it is small at the top of the screen but when I get a text it appears in the middle like before.

Why is this? In notifications center banners are on and when my phone is not on lock screen the text does come up at the top of the screen
