I have a MP 2008 running the latest OS possible -- El Capitan 10.11.6
I've been trying to find an installer for a compatible version of iMovie
I believe it would be iMovie version 9; some say 6 is better. I'll take whatever works.

I don't have iMovie installed on my computer so I can't use the updates that are available on apple.

I dug out my old Leopard install discs, hoping to see iMovie there, install it and then run some upgrades.
However I don't see it there, at least not named in an obvious way... the pic is the 2nd install disc...
Does anyone know if one of these packages in the pic is iMovie?

I read on another community that
It will be on disc 2 of the 2 installation discs that came with your computer.
Disc 1 contains the original OSX (Leopard) while disc 2 has all of the iLife applications including iMovie.

From this page:
iMovie versions.jpg

Seems to be available for El Cap here:

Thanks, I was scouring and came across both of those pages earlier, but those are all updates.
You need to have the base version (or whatever it's called) to install the updates on top of.
So that's why I need to find an installer for the base/main version.

But if I missed something please let me know.

Are you not able to access iMovie through the App Store in El Capitan, it should show the most recent version your system supports.

Thanks. I tried that but you need to have 'purchased' it in the past i.e. downloaded it from the app store, which apparently I didn't. If you ever downloaded it from the app store then you can go in and download the latest version for your OS, allegedly.

I must have either installed it with the install disc or not installed it at all back then.
