Need help transferring whatsapp chat

Just start your new account on your iPhone and What'sApp will automatically ask you that if you want to get your old history chat back on your new smartphone 
Just make sure you have backed up your WhatsApp chats on the Samsung before you install WhatsApp on the iPhone, and import the backed up chat when WhatsApp asks you if you want to do so.
I think it's just simple as installing that over iPhone. Just have a conversation backup on the app itself for now through the create backup in the app itself option. And then when you will install it over iPhone and register with the same number all the chats would be recovered. I did the same for mine.
It's actually possible to transition chats and merge them. I had two phones running WhatsApp, then got rid of the second telephone number and was able to combine the chats.
