This is my sisters and mine MBP. My laptop started getting weird display issues until it eventually stopped working/displaying. works fine if connected to an external monitor though. When I took it to the genius bar, they said it was a motherboard issue and the entire thing had to be replaced, which was way too expensive.
My sisters MBP had her hinge broken, everything else is fine.
So i thought i'd use the 2 laptops and their parts and fix them up.
but I don't know how to go about doing it in the most efficient and simplest manner, since opening up the entire thing seems to be way more complicated than normal windows laptops.
Should I switch out the motherboards, or the displays (which come with the hinge) , or can the hinge itself be removed from the display area and I should just try to change that out ? any help/thoughts on this would be appreciated guys, thanks.
