Hi -- I have an IPod that is about 5 years old. Hadn't used it in a couple of years. Hooked it up to computer via usb cord. Itunes immediately recognized & said it needed to be updated. Began that process & then moronically forgot what I was doing & removed the IPod from the usb. Got a message on computer saying it had been improperly removed.

At this point, there was an Apple & a progress bar on the front of the IPod. I tried reconnecting it to the USB, but it did nothing. Then removed again & did the hold on/off deal followed by holding the select & menu keys for 6 seconds. At that point the Apple & progress bar disappeared from the front of the Ipod. Now there is nothing on the screen. Itunes won't recognize it on any usb port of my macbook pro. Tried charging overnight & leaving it alone for a day, but still nothing. Have repeatedly tried the hold on/off followed by select & menu & get nothing.

Any other ideas? Thanks much.
