I don't know if this is the right thread. Anyhow, I got my fisrt MB, and I wanted to know if there is an application (free) if possible where I can create a model of a restaurant. I have always dreamed of having my own restaurant. I am no expert in the field nor do I know much about the technicality of designing and stuff. However, I have heard that Mac's are supposed to be for this kind of stuff designing, movies, music etc. I want to learn to to build a model for a restaurant, and hopefully someday it will turn out into reality. Any suggestions?

Sketchup might hit the spot.

I use sketchup all the time at school. It's actually quite amazing. But unless you already have a building/space to design for, it is hard to design it since it most likely won't be anything like the building/space you end up getting. If all you are going for is style, you need to gather samples of materials and colors and make a binder as well.

Architectural design is different than Graphics, Music and Movie editing (which is what Macs are known for). I'm an architecture student and when I got my first Mac, all it allowed me to do was draw/design better by hand, and not on the computer (which i really liked).
