My Windows 10 partition had been working flawlessly. Then out of no where, the Magic Mouse that I use sometimes just stopped working. However, Windows still reported it as connect. Looking further, I started to see that nothing could connect via Bluetooth. I checked device manager and it said Bluetooth was stopped because of an issue. I tried a whole bunch of troubleshooting, but nothing worked. So, I re-did the Windows partition and reinstalled. Even with a new installation, I cannot get Bluetooth to work reliably. Windows continue to say there is an issue with the hardware, but macOS does not. Does anyone have any advice? I am really at my breaking point with this MBP.

I don't have the fix, but I got the same bluetooth issue with Windows 10 boot camp on mbp 13 2017 TB. Magic Mouse 2 takes forever to connect, then fails. Even when it says connected it doesn't work. Works great in macOS or in Windows with an attached usb bluetooth stick. Seems like a driver issue under Windows.

Yeah it is quite shocking. Nothing I have done is working. Now even with reinstalls it isn't seeing Bluetooth at all. Part of me thinks it might be a failing chip. But then macOS is working fine, so that makes me think driver issue. But it is just frustrating.

So I talked with Apple today and they elevated me to an engineer. Basically he found a thread on this problem and one employee was able to get Bluetooth working by first shutting the computer down, resetting the SMC, then boot straight to Windows. They think there is something in Mojave that disrupts the Bluetooth in Windows 10. They are working on a solution. So fingers crossed.

I have the MBP 2018 Retina and is having the exact problem. How do you reset the SMC?

Thanks Justin,

Bluetooth & magic mouse work great again in Windows. Not trying to boot to Mac Mojave Environment for the time being.

Feel Ironic though.

Try this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
Key is once you reset the smc don't let the computer boot to macOS. Straight to windows. My computer turns itself back on automatically after an smc reset so after I did the key command I hold option.

Glad it worked! You can switch between the two, just make sure you reset the SMC before going to Windows. I know it sucks that there is that extra step, but hopefully the 10.14.1 update fixes this. I will be looking for the release notes!

The latest Windows 10 Update 17134.376 seems to have solve the problem.

I whish this were true. I was on the build and still experienced Bluetooth issues. I read somewhere about some people having luck using the Insider Preview builds of Windows 10. I am now on Build 18272 and the Bluetooth issue still persists :(

Thought I was going mad, posted a similar thread today after having an immense amount of trouble getting Bluetooth to work. I never got anything connected on the Windows side, but all works on the Mac side. Also have a 2016 w/TB.

Haven't tried the SMC workaround, but sounds pretty tedious if it breaks every time you go back to Mojave. I only sporadically use Windows. Will keep subscribed to this thread hoping for a fix!

Yes it appears fixed for me as well now! Only took two years, but hey it is finally fixed. It is pretty sad that with all the money and number of engineers Apple has that this problem took so long to fix.

For me, it’s enough to just turn off and on the computer, before booting into windows 10 from Mojave. It’s amazing Bluetooth is finally working after all this time!!
