iPod Need Help With Dockin Station please!!!!!!!!!!!

Well i have a ipod nano 8 gb 3g and have recently brought a docking station, it has a AUX in socket in the back and i want to connect it to my stereo, which has a AUX in Female (red and white) i think in the back of my stereo

So if i buy a cable and connect these up will the sound still come thru my dockin station aswell as my stereo speakers??

please help
