need help with motherboard problems (PC)

hey, i am currently upgrading and making a PC for my uncle who is in need of one. I put 512MB ram, a radeon 7000 w/64mb Vram, a CD/DVD drive. and i ethernet card. I also put in a new HD. in the mids of ding thins i completely unplugged the motherboard and now i can't igure out what plugs go where. I have plugged in the big one that looks like the long rectangular one for HD and Disk drives. but i am left with 4 or so, really small plugs that i don't know where to plug, if this helps the computer is a 1GHZ celeron in a "super case" that sthe brand of case, if anyone knows how i can give this puppy power, please post pics of your experience doing this if you have or maybe a link to a site that shows how to plug in the motherboard.

They could be for the hdd led, power switch or reset switch on the front of the case. Or they could be for usb headers. Its important to make sure that usb headers are plugged in correctly.
I think your best bet is to identify the m/board and download a manual for it from the manufacturers web site.
Most of the major plugs are only possible to plug in one way round (ie the plug from the power supply (usually white), and the disc drive cables).

k i am pretty sure they are coming from the power button, there are about 4 of them all with different head colours.

Just like stevep said, try and find the manual on the internet. If you dont know who made your motherboard just look around on the board. It will probably have a logo or model number written somewhere. The only other thing is to read the writing on the PCB next to the connector (if there is any writing of course).

The leads from the buttons (power button, reset switch, HDD light etc) should all have labels on them telling you what they are. Connectors like power/reset buttons are usually 2 pin connecters that can go any way round, but you must make sure you are finding the right motherboard connector.

In general you can find the button connectors towards the bottom right hand corner of a motherboard.
