Need Help

I am in Guam, trying to use just the wifi of my Iphone. Under the network setting I have the 3G turned off and the data roaming turned off. While using the wifi only, I keep getting a text message saying outside of data plan. Is there anything other than turning off 3G and data roaming I need to do to use wifi? I dont want to be charged international fees for using just wifi.

If you put it in airplane mode and then turn the wifi back on you should be good to go. This is what my wife and I did in Europe this summer and had zero issues.
