I want to get a cheap and large display that I can keep on my desk at home. I will be connecting my macbook air to it. Is there anything specific the display needs to have? I would prefer to spend less than 300 dollars, so I might check out craigslist.

Also what cord will I need to make the connection?

I'd get something in the 23-24" range, dell is good, get 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 resolution, and DVI input will typically work the best, you just need a miniDisplayPort to DVI adapter and a DVI-D cable, which can be had for cheap at monoprice.com

I have stuck with Samsung all my time in displays. I currently own two 24" Samsung B2430's both perfect with HDMI,DVI and VGA output. I paid £140 each, so should be within your budget.

Could I buy a good one with cables at best buy for 200 bucks?

Could you guys post links too? For cables and monitors.

Thanks

I really don't think its necessary to get that, could probably get something from best buy for much cheaper. Links please guys?

imo "cheap" and "Best Buy" don't go together.

There are good monitor deals daily, but you should always check their reviews before making the purchase.

If you're impatient you can always check amazon for something cheap, like this

I just figured shipping would cost a lot to buy online.

On another topic, I'm going to college in a couple weeks. Should I bring this with me? Or just leave it at home; probably wouldn't get used there.
