I am thinking of upgrading my 1st gen Ipad pro. Are there any issues with the new M1's? Would I better off sticking with the 8th gen? I am due to upgrade, and I usually aim for the top, but are there any issues that any of you have discovered?

I am not aware of any hardware issue for my M1 iPad Pro. It works as intended. I am also using it with Magic Keyboard Folio and it works like wonders.

The spring event are for cheaper iPad, which might not suit your need.

I updated to the 1TB M1 12.9” iPad Pro with the magic keyboard from the original 12.9” iPad Pro. Really love the screen and the storage. Main uses are LumaFusion, Notability, iWork, and then media consumption. Love the speed increase especially in comparison to the original iPad Pro. One caveat I have run into is battery life. Not the greatest when screen brightness is high. I love the screen but never have liked the “smoothness” while using the pencil with it. I didn’t want a ”permanent” paper-like screen cover like I had place on the original so I found a magnetic matte screen cover which I can take off while watching media yet easily put back on while I use the pencil.

I also upgraded from the first generation iPad Pro and it’s a great improvement in screen quality and speed. Love the Pencil 2 with it.
