3.install a legit copy of xp or vista
4.after installing use the drivers disc created and run it
5. then do windows updates
6. download ati drivers for your card min was 2600 pro

11 update driver
12 locate the driver where the ati drivers where uncompressed C:/ATI/Support select th .inf
13 it will install

Well, yes, obviously there is this "brute force" method but I found the great advantage with Mobility Modder being that it "OEMs" the official ATI drivers so that they install normally and you can also install the Catalyst Control Center, etc. It is the closest thing to ATI issuing official drivers.

It's also a lot easier.

AMEN. Mobility Modder saved me from some INSANE headaches. Do you knwo whether there an OSX solution?

even with out mobility modder, you can install Catalyst Control Center. it's up to you which method you choose.

How? The GPU in the iMac is a mobility card and as such is crippled to prevent OEMs from messing with it. There is no driver update support for this particular mobility GPU. Mobility Modder removes that limitation, so the driver thinks the iMac GPU is the desktop version. How can you install Catalyst Control and the Driver without first hacking the driver?
