I have an iPhone 5S (running iOS 9.0.2) and it seems to me MOST of Apple's own Apps will NOT ALLOW me to use keyboard in "landscape" (wide) mode! Easy example: the APP STORE!

So, I have to:
1.) search for an App by typing in keywords
2.) sign into App Store with Apple ID
3.) type complicated password

.... all on this LITTLE vertical pinched dinky keyboard!

AND, I made sure that "Lock Keyboard" is NOT locked!

Fortunately, there ARE some apps (like "messaging," etc.) where the keyboard goes into "landscape mode" when I rotatate my phone. However, to date, it seems to me the OVERWHELMING majority of the apps I use will NOT let the keyboard to into wide/"landscape" mode.

MY FINGERS ARE JUST TOO DARN BIG!!!

So.... my question is: am I missing something? Is there some Magical Button (for example, a big red button on the back of my phone that I overlooked that says "Turn ON for the BIG WIDE KEYBOARD that you have been looking for" ????

Alternatively, is there some App, or even a HACK that will allow for a keyboard in Landscape Mode whenever I am needing a keyboard?

Well, it works with apps that support landscape mode. The App Store doesn't have it on the iPhone.

As far as the password, you can use TouchID instead (and for free apps you can enable it not to prompt you for password now as I recall).

Yeah, you can't get a landscape keyboard over an app that only works in portrait.

All I can say, is you need an iPhone 6/6S+. At that point the portrait keyboard may be large enough for you, and if it isn't, there would be a lot more places that would go into landscape on the larger phone where they previously wouldn't on the 5S.

And actually, the landscape keyboard on the plus model is so wide that you need unusually adept thumbs to type on it.

I hate the landscape keyboard on the Plus. The extra buttons on the side are useless for me and get in the way when I try and type. I wish they would also include a number row above the letters instead of having to flip back and forth to a separate keyboard page.
