IMHO I would start with AIGA - American Institute of Graphic Arts, they've been around for about 100 years or so and there's plenty of great advice there. I'm from The City - they're on Broadway and their office number is 212-807-1990.

No, but it's a trade organization for people who deal with things like you and can probably help you find an attorney in your area who can help. You're extremely unlikely to get a worthwhile referral here.

I relied on the two local chapters in Seattle and Portland, where most of my work is implemented. Each made recommendations for legal reps in my target areas, and the work they've done has been stellar IMHO.
In AIGA's Resources portal (http://www.aiga.org/resources/) there are some posts targeted toward laypersons that can be filtered by checking relevant topics - specifically "legal issues", "contracts", and "copyright" - I like to educate myself before I have a discussion with any of my attorneys. Also, check out their standard agreement - http://www.aiga.org/standard-agreement - and be sure to take a look at the Schedules starting on Page 50.
