Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade my 2020 iMac 5K retina 3.8 ghz 8-core i7 to a Mac Studio with perhaps a 32" display. I shoot mostly events and car photography with a pair of Canon R5 (R5 II soon) and R6 II bodies. My current iMac is struggling to keep up with thousands of raw files shot mostly on the 45mp Canon R5 using Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. I'm in no rush to upgrade and more than happy to wait if a faster Mac Studio is 3-6 months away. To be honest my dream computer would be an iMac M4 pro with a 32" display that doesn't exist. My budget is $5K.

You might be better off is you tried the Ultra. Even the base model is attractive, but you can choose more RAM and storage, all within you budget.

I have a M1 Max Studio with 32gbs of ram and it handles all of my Sony A7RV files (60 megapixels) just fine in LR, Photoshop and a couple of other programs. Anything newer will only be better.

I'm considering the base model Mac Studio with 64gb Ram, and 1TB HD with a pair of BenQ PD 3225U displays. My only hesitation is the possibility of an updated Mac Studio with an M4 chip at the end of the year.
