Can anyone help me on this issue?
I have tried to send to large groups of people using the mail program and it won't let me. I even tried to make the people a group in my address book and it still wouldn't send the message. I figured this shouldn't be a problem but it's turning out to be something that is quite annoying. Has anybody else run into this issue?

Hi, can you please provide a few more pieces of information?

1) How large are "large groups?"

2) What does "won't let me" mean? Does it give you an error message? If so, what message? Does it pretend to send the e-mail and then it doesn't arrive to anyone?

And please tell me the topic of the e-mail does not involve free iPods. :D

I am trying to send to about twenty people. It was an invite for a party we had and I couldn't get it to send out no matter what server I tried to send the email to. Attached was a pdf file of 670k. I have sent lots of attachments but it seems like if I try to send to a lot of addresses then it won't send out.
The error I get is this:

Cannot send the message using the server smtp.comcast.net.

Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.

Were you at home when you tried this, or somewhere else? Sometimes the server at comcast will only accept your mail if you are mailing it from your home (where you have the comcast service)....

This is on my home computer. Using mail strictly through the machine with only a direct connection to the cable modem. I have never seen a problem with that before but my roommate says that yahoo mail doesn't always let her email to large numbers of people.

Set up a Gmail account and send using their smtp. Don't think there's a limit (that low) there... :)

Edit: just tested it by sending a mail to 20 different addresses (in the BCC field, of course) and I've not gotten any error messages. Three of the five I send to myself came through instantly while I'm still waiting for the last two (might be some slow servers...)

Comcast mail was having trouble for a couple weeks because MSN would not accept hotmail or MSN mail. An error message said mail server would not accept mail if any of a group addresses contained one of these destinations. Microsoft finally solved the problem around Dec 6
