Someone told me start a new thread on this topic, so here I am.
Assuming the fellow who put up the pictures, is still in the neighborhood.

This is the dead drive (burner) I have. Please compare.

That was me advising a new thread in response to you question regarding a warning of some kind. What exactly is the warning?

Back to business... From my picture, can you tell if my Drive (CD/DVD Burner) is compatible?

Rather then a "warning" I think it's the "alert" you mentioned in your post from the other thread that has us all curious.

Perhaps the alert could have been the red icon flag near an account name when logged in?
...the thing indicating either a reply or "like" (thumbs-up) to a post.

For as many years that I have been visiting MacRumors and asking for help, I don't have a clue of many of the features that lie in wait to be discovered.

I didn't know that there is such a thing as "conversation", back in the day, we called it "Private".

Need new Optical Drive - which one? #2:po_O:p
