iPhone Need Podcast App that works well

I am looking for a good podcast app that works with CarPlay.

I've tried Overcast and I felt it worked well on the iPhone. But not when I connected to CarPlay. I had problems with the app crashed, and other times it would not play when I pressed play.

Apple Podcast works fine with CarPlay. But would like to have one with a few more features, as well as the possibility of "Dark Mode" as in Overcast. It's nice with Dark Mode when I am listening / searches Podcast from my iPhone.

So .. Does anyone have any personal experience with an Podcast app that actually works on CarPlay?

I'm using Pocketcasts and it works fine with CarPlay.
In the iOS app, double tapping the icon iswitches it from light to dark mode.
It has volume boost and trim silence features.
Does not have Apple Watch app though.

Don't use Downcast, it was my go-to but needs an update to fix a display bug on iOS 10. If they patch it, I will go back. Waiting for them to fix it.

I switched to RSSRadio, has an ad-supported version so you can try it for free. Solid little app with lots of critical features similar to Pocketcasts. Not sure about CarPlay but you can give the free one a shot.

I like the fact that you can record a radio show to the iCloud folder on a PC then when I'm on a train or out and about....then import the show to RSSRADIO from the cloud on my iPhone....and even add art work and descriptions. Plus it got an eq which is essential for listening to podcasts....god knows why the official podcast app doesn't have one.

Maybe a bit late to ask but what bug does it have? I'm a daily Downcast user although it hasn't been updated in months it works fine on my iPhone 5s running 10.2.1
I recently tested out both Overcast and PocketCasts but I'm still sticking with Downcast because it has such an awesome and smart way of downloading podcasts and playing all downloaded podcasts in my offline playlist and automatically removed and ads podcasts that I've downloaded or listened to. I couldn't find this feature in the recently updated Overcast although that has great iOS10 features like a widget.

I don't own a car with CarPlay so don't know if there is support for that. I expect not.
