got iPhone already unlocked from hong kong. It is on 1.1.3
I am trying to ssh to it and using root and password of alpine/dottie This does not work, any chance some1 can help as I am desperate

I have this same problem. OpenSSH is installed but the iPhone won't accept the password :(

Using iJailbreak on Leopard.

Also is there a fix for YouTube not working?

The root password for 1.1.3 is 'alpine', and it can't be changed.

Do you have SSH installed? ('OpenSSH' in Installer)

yep i have that installed but it wont accept the password? i am using flashfxp

any ideas?

I've had the same prbs..tried 2 diff. FTP programs...on Mac and PC...couldnt get it to accept me. and yeah, i changed to port 22

Its remotely possible to have changed the password.

scp root@xxx.xxx.xx.xx 'enter'
passwd 'enter'
Enter twice and voila!

I know that it is NOT recommended with SUmmerboard in 1.1.3

Obviously this is the case as it IS 'alpine'

See if you have something called

"services"

or something you don't know what it does. The ones mentioned above have a switch to turn on / off SSH that is already installed.

Just had the same problem with a 1.1.3.

Was able to SFTP. Then turned iPhone off. Sit for a day.

Had "Permission Denied" through TRANSMIT, even though the password wasn't changed.

Did a few things, including uninstalling and reinstalling openSSH, but still doesn't work with transmit.

Tried with CYBERDUCK, and it works. Bizarre.
