My elderly mother, who has an Apple TV, is a bit hard of hearing. I want to get her some ear/headphones that will be very easy for her to connect to the ATV so she can listen to shows/movies. When I say easy, I mean not having to go into menus to select certain headphones and such. I'd get her a set of Air Pod Pros, v1 or some Beats since they will pair automatically with the ATV.

My concern is that they will also pair with every other Apple device she has (iPhone and iPad) and if the ear/headphones connect to one of those devices when she is trying to watch TV, it may be a bit much for her to figure out how to get the sound only from the ATV and not the iPhone or iPad.

So I am looking for any suggestions on the best ear/headphones so this problem is minimized, if not eliminated. I am not sure it possible, however.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth on those devices, then click the "i" next to the AirPods, then click "Connect to This iPhone" and select "When Last Connected to This iPhone/iPad" instead of "Automatically" to keep the AirPods from switching over to the iPhone/iPad by themselves.

As long as you do that and of course do the initial pairing of the AirPods with the Apple TV, theoretically she should never have to reconnect them to the Apple TV through the menu system.

Thank you. And doing that keeps them from connecting to the phone and iPad after you paired to the Apple TV?
