I had JB'd my phone about a couple weeks ago. When I went into work, since we(me and my co-workers) are pretty much geeks and nerds I bragged about all the kool things I could do with my new JB'd iPhone.

A couple of my peers thought it was kool and choose to do the same, I ended up JB'n one for a close friend. All of the breaks went off flawlessly, until today.

Another peer, interested in JB'n his phone brought it to me. And its been trouble ever since, I keep getting various errors

*6--(something couldnt remember the last numbers)

I followed the instructions the same way I followed them for my phone and my close friends phone but for some reason his phone wont fall in line. He has 3gs, 3.1.2. 7D11 and all the requirements but for some reason it is not taking.

If ANYONE can give some assistance as to why this is happening I would appreciate it.

FYI: He said he updated last night from itunes and used the official update for the iphone, Im thinking that maybe apple upped a new 3.1.2 with that loop whole closed and didnt mention it on their site.

Have you tried applying the custom firmware both with DFU and Restore mode? Instructions for both are in my signature.

No to be honest, I have only tried Restore mode.

I didnt know that DFU mode could be a alternate route to take if it didnt take in restore. Im retrying restore mode right now if this fails again then I will do the DFU mode.

Thank u alot!

Just tried DFU Mode and no success.
Im going to attempt to increase the "root partition size" (i guess im getting desperate)

You are not the only one, look at the threads.

lol true,

Its just I done jb'd my phone, a close friends phone and even walked another guy through the steps but yet now Im having problems, its frustrating as hell.

FYI, I had the same problem with my iphone 3gs and I solved the issue by redownloading pwnage tool after da error had occurred...I then restored the iphone using itunes to original factory settings...Then, I started up pwnage tool and built da package and did all original steps...I can't be too certain if it will work for all but I know this was my solution and it worked...As of me typing this, the phone just finally got jailbroke
