Hello,

I am looking to refresh and gain some new skills. I am trying to find simple quick read books I can request from my library. My problem is I cannot find reputable books with high ratings in Amazon.
Subjects I am looking for are:

Color Theory

After Effects (I remember in college there was a book that was the best:
Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects: Essential and Advanced Techniques, 4th Edition
by Chris and Trish Meyer (Author))

Premier (Something to understand the basics)

Has anyone read The Dam Book?

I haven't read it, but I've heard that the Dam book is a colossal waste of time...not sure myself, though.

I'm also not sure what books are out there for AE or Premiere (what a help I am!) but surely Lynda might not be of more use for program-specific help, compared to more general topics like colour theory, etc?

I'm a big fan of Lynda myself over books for learning specific programs, but that's because I learn visually, and when presented with an instructional book, I fall asleep (hah).

Sorry I wasn't much help either. But for specific programs like After Effects, I believe Adobe hosts the lynda videos for free on their adobe TV channel.
