Hey there -- hoping this is fairly simple. I am used to being able to right click on a mouse and choose the option of copy, paste, etc. but on my Macbook keyboard I can't do this....any idea how I go about doing the same thing (without going up to the top "edit" bar and copying that way)?

I'm primarily looking to use this for shutterfly to copy and paste pictures...there's really no other way to do it except to right click....

Thanks!!

xxlordgold -- its not working!

its not working...sigh....any other ideas??

because there is only one button on the MB keyboard, MB's have the clever solution of "two fingered right click". To enable this, go to

System preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Trackpad -> "Place two fingers on trackpad and click for secondary click"

Then you just put any two fingers on the trackpad and click the button, and it will bring up the right-click menu. IMO a much better system than having two separate buttons.

You can ctrl + click, and the right-click menu will pop up!

This is the answer... the double finger click works too (or two fingers and click if you don't have the touch to click enabled) but control click is how you get the right click menu open. Are you sure your control button isn't broken?

Being a PC guy, that 2-finger thingy sounds like a pain in the butt compared to just hitting the right-button on the trackpad.

Am I the only one that thinks this?

it's a personal thing, but I think it's loads easier... the way I use the trackpad is I keep my thumb on the button, my index finger as my main pointing finger, and I keep my middle finger sort of floating above the trackpad... so when I want to scroll or right-click, I just drop the middle finger onto the pad. It's really natural... more so than having to feel around for the right-click button & making sure you're on the right button.

After getting used to it I think it's better. I'm always missing the 2nd button on Windows laptops.

Well, I haven't missed yet. ;)

I guess I'll have to get used to the 2-finger thing. Thanks for the help (and the nice visual! :)).

I'm new to the Mac way of clicking as well but I must say...the two finger scrolling is a Godsend. Much, much simpler than moving your finger to scroll a little wheel, in my opinion. Only problem I had was with right clicking, at first. Soon, the control + click became second nature. Then, I came across the options to make a two finger tap like you guys said but I never really tried it. Does it get annoying? I mean...does being able to use two fingers to click and scroll sometimes conflict? I should try it when my new MBP comes.

Omg

The two finger click thing is great! I didn't change any settings...just tried it and it worked. haha. Thanks!!! I never knew!!! And the scroll thing too!!! yayyyyyy --thanks everyone!
