Okay, I have been using macs for nearly 20 years and have owned an iMac G3, iBook G3, 17" Pbook and now a 15" Pbook. My sister is in need of a new computer (and I owe her money) so I am thinking of giving her my Rev C 15" and purchasing a new 12" Pbook and a 20" screen.
What I would like is some thoughts from people who HAVE 12" Pbooks and how useful, fast, etc...they find them. I am not a gamer, but I do use apps Adobe apps quite often, but speed is not necessarily hugely important to me. How well does the 12" screen stack up?
When I hook it to my 32" Sony trinitron, is it going to be just as nice as my 15"?
Do you think I will miss my 15" terribly?

Any advice would be great.
Oh, if I do decide to keep my 15", I will be buying her a new 12" iBook...and could possibly spring for a NEW 15"...any thoughts?

Just curious, what makes you want to go from a 15" to a 12"? Has the size limited your portability? I'm guessing that if you don't mind the size, than perhaps you should stick w/ your 15" because it seems like the 15"ers have added pluses that the 12"ers don't... ie better screen, better graphics, etc. I personally can't see myself ever lugging anything larger than a 12" but yes...

Well...

I do travel quite a bit, but so far I have not seen a NEED for that beautiful 15" screen. Money wise, it's almost the same for me to buy a 12" with a 20" screen than buy a new 15"...
I miss the size of my old 12" iBook, I just want to know about the speed/power sacrifices I might be making (if any).

I haven't used a 15" PowerBook, but I find my 12" PB (1.33 GHz) just fine for Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, etc. Even Final Cut Pro works well enough, although I do all my heavy video editing on my PowerMac.

Anyway, if you like the 12" PB's size better, I say go for it. I don't think there's a significant performance difference between the 12" and 15" models. I use my PB with an external screen and it works just great.
