im selling my g3 ibook and there is some work realted stuff i must get rid of completely. i think i can figure out how to format, but i want to know if i install jaguar 10.2, which is what is on the ibook now, does it also install mac os9? i want this to happen...i want the person getting it from me to recieve it just as i got it when it was new, and i don't want any of my crap to be left on there. please help

Yeah, reformatting it and reinstalling should suffice. Just shut it down when it gets to the user details screen. 
If it's REALLY sensitive data, boot up using a Tiger disc, and run Disk Utility. From here, you can format with a 7, 35, or 100 something times pass. What this means is that it will write zeroes to the disk that many times over. A 7 times erase normally takes a good few hours. The highest mode, I'd give close to a week. But, you can be perfectly certain that your material is erased.
Installing Jaguar from the disc does not automatically install OS9. As I recall, you need an OS 9 disc from elsewhere, or a Classic install disc.

Boot from the OS X CD and before you install your OS, use the top menu and select Disk Utility from the applications, or options menu drop down. This list should be under one of the headings near the apple logo.
You can then format the drives in Disk Utility. The option you will want to run would be the 7 or 35 pass erase or format. This essentially writes Zero's to the entire disk surface 7 or 35 times (depending on what you choose).
7 is good in most cases, and would require an expensive trip to Kroll Ontrack or other companies to recover data at that point, otherwise 35 times over should make it almost impossible..
The 7 pass erase will take about 2 hours depending on the size and speed of the disk if on an ibook G3.
