Beta 8 completely toasted my Mac Pro, and I need to reinstall Monterey Beta 7…

How do I do that? Is there a download I can do?

Is it back to Big Sur, then Monterey, and would that try to install Beta 8 again - which will not work…

All Mac Pro 2013 I have heard about are toasted with Beta 8.

This is why I make backups and bootable usbs.

There are rare occasions when I had to downgrade like that. You can either restore from backup, potentially losing some data, or install beta 7 over the top of beta 8 with the bootable usb thereby not losing any data.

Or even wipe the whole drive and clean install beta 7 with the bootable usb.

If you have an M1 Mac you can even use the ipsw file to replace the beta 8 system with the beta 7 system, leaving all data in tact.

Did you do a backup of beta 7 and/or make a bootable usb?

I thought I could restore from Time Machine backup, but when booting into online Recovery (the only thing that works) it won’t let me restore from Time Machine. It says I need to install macOS, and only suggests Big Sur.

I was going to reinstall Beta 7 “on top”, and then restore from Time Machine, when I realized that I do not have a Beta 7 installer. Hence why I am looking for one.

I don’t think you can download any Monterey beta earlier than beta 8 anymore. MDS lists all the full installers available via software update preference pane and the only one for monterey is beta 8:

I always download the full installers (when available) and store them on an external hard drive - because I know apple regularly delete old ones from their servers:

Might be too late now for this in particular, but maybe in future you can consider trying something similar if you have an external drive. Then you would not be in such a predicament.

…and Beta 8 does not work with the 2013 Mac Pro - several users have reported the same problem. The update reboots the Mac, and then it gets stuck. You can’t get into Recovery, and you can’t restore from Time Machine.

My Mac Pro (Late 2013) appeared toast after the Beta 8 upgrade, but it turned out that video via the Thunderbolt 2 ports (any of them, with any cable combination) quit working. Video via HDMI continues to work though. Could you give that a try?

I suggest downloading beta 6 since beta 7 wont allow you to create a bootable usb. you can update later beta 6 to beta 7.
they are listed here and downloads are directly from apple servers so it should be safe

Of course... I didn’t think:) I have installed Beta 6 now, and it works fine via an “on top” installation. Now I can download Beta 7 from mrmacintosh and install manually. It doesn’t matter that the USB installer does not work in that package…

so you installed beta 6 of top of beta 8 via the usb installer? I might as well try that if it works fine. instead of a clean install and restore! it will save me some time! external monitor issue here with beta 8

That worked for me. Of course I had to create a USB installer and do it from that one, as I couldn't get into macOS.
