Need to find the model of my iMac from abroad, apple id?

Hey guys, struggling to solve an issue.

I am abroad for work. I left my iMac in my home country/home. The iMac is disconnected so I cannot see anything about the device when I log in with icloud or any of my settings from my Macbook Pro and my iPhone.

I want to know if I can anyway find access in terms of just the model number/year model of my iMac at home. It's my main device/computer and it's been used of course by my icloud account and my apple id before so there must be some records of it somewhere.

At the moment, all I can see is if I go to FIND MY IPHONE, it shows up there but it just says IMAC and no information about it. And of course it says it is disconnected.

I want to find the model number, as I'm just considering buying a new one where I am now and then when I go home, to sell that one. But I just want to confirm what model and year that one is before I buy a new one.

Is there anyway at all through my apple id account, I can trace any information about that iMac from where I am now?

Settings > Tap your name at the top > scroll down > there should be a list of devices, if your iMac is there tap it and it should show OS and serial number.

Hey if you re-read what I posted a bit more carefully, you'll realize I already tried that and that is not what I'm asking as my device is NOT CONNECTED AKA OFFLINE, hence it is not displaying there

And I'm abroad from that iMac

Your iMac doesn’t have to be online to show up in Settings as Mr Brightside suggested. Devices associated with your AppleID are listed whether online or not.

Attitude aside, OP might be correct.

Find My Phone app does not show s/n. iCloud.com shows last four of the s/n and basic info (Macbook Pro, 15").

Simple Google search would have turned up that appleid.apple.com will provide the s/n for a device. Then can take that and query checkcoverage.apple.com, where you will get basic model information (type, year, screen size [Macbook Pro, 2018, 15"]). But nothing else will show, re: RAM, SSD, GHz. Need the receipt for that and or be seated in front of the device.

iPhone and iPad settings do show the full serial number, though, the same as appleid.apple.com.

Just curious - How do you all see the device serial numbers? In Settings/AppleID, I see my 6 devices, but none show serial numbers, just model, and OS version. And out of 6 devices, three are incorrect device/models. The only exception is my iPhone, which also shows the phone number, and IMEI (not serial number). I guess you can use IMEI to decode what model that is, but I sure don't see any serial numbers, again with 6 devices.

For detail purposes, where that is showing on iOS is Settings > your Apple ID > device-in-question

Mac, pretty much same: Settings > iCloud > Account Details button, then Devices tab.

But as OP mentioned, does not show in Find My Phone.

Still don't see any serial numbers for any of my devices signed in to iCloud.
Not on my iPhone, and also no serial numbers appear on my Mac.
Maybe it's because I have never turned on two-factor authentication?

That makes sense. None of your devices are “trusted”. I wonder if the OP doesn’t see SNs for the same reason.
