So im using (well i was lol) ios 10 for some legacy software i use for shift time work etc.
Being a total plonker i upgraded to ios 11 and i need ios 10 to have this certain s/w running. Can i get back to 10 at all? Thanks guys

A lot of that depends.

First, you'd need to have the SHSH blobs.
Second, you'd need to be jailbroken. Only possible on certain firmwares.
Third, it would need to be possible for your device (which you did not mention) and therefore have a tool to do it.

If you have no idea what blobs are then I can guarantee you don't have them - in which case the entire chain breaks down. Your best bet at that point is to find a device with iOS 10 on it and buy it.

Anyway, I'm not sure even with blobs it's possible at this time.

ok thanks for the reply. If i had a phone on ios 10 could i transfer all the data from the 11 and not lose the 10 FW? Would it a case of having to manually move over the data (pictures, contacts etc) and re download apps?

You'd have to manually do it, unless you happen to have an older iOS 10 backup. Going up (i.e from a 10 backup to 11) is fine, but it doesn't work the other way.
