I have existing AutoCad files .dwg extensions that I need to open on my Mac. I saved all these files from my Windows based system, but now need to open them and alter. Looking for a Cad application for Mac that will open these files and let me make changes and save. I have searched the web and have tried a couple of "try" before you buy applications with no luck. I can't afford to purchase an expensive program like Vector. I am open to all suggestions. Thx.

I have used Adobe Illustrator in the past to open .dwg files, but some of the paths are a bit crazy when you bring it in. I have also had some CAD drawings supplied as PDF files, with paths, and they open well in Illustrator.

eDrawings

eDrawings enabled me to open the file and print it. Thank you. What about editing? Any suggestions.

depends on how much you want to spend and all that....the usual!

you might look at TurboCAD Mac Designer v5 to see if it'll do enough for you....they also have a couple of more expense products that do more
