need to replace optiarc ad-7170a DVD drive

I've had nothing but problems with this drive for a long time and when I just created a bunch of dual-layer DVD drink coasters that was the last straw.

I've been getting the sense errors with it and tried all the troubleshooting that's been suggested and I'm just giving up on this drive completely----

I'm looking for good suggestions on what to buy to replace it.

I'm using it in a MacPro1,1 (snow leopard) and it has the ATAPI interface.

well, I checked with Other World Computing and they recommended the Pioneer DVR-118L Dual Layer unit so I bought that.
