i have an ibook, which can go online, and a pc which can't. i also have some big stuff on my pc that i cant in my ibook, but i don't have any DVDs. so, my only option is to use this one only ethernet cable, connect it to ibook and pc's motherboard ethernet port, and i don't know what to do next. what's next? i did search mind you in this forum and something that starts with a G and ends with an E :D

In order to do that, i believe you need something called a crossover cable, you can get them at any electronic store. I dont think you can do that with just an eaithernet cable unless you setup a server on your computer to localhost, but i wouldnt know how to even start that. The cross over cables arent expensive.

Your iBook doesn't require a crossover cable, AFAIK. It's smart enough to use any ethernet cable.

There are instructions somewhere on this forum for doing what you want to do; I'll see if i can find them.
