Ok, I'm a new mac user (2 days) and somehow muffed up itunes in the process of trying to organize my music... anyway, I need to reinstall it now but first need to uninstall it.

I dragged the program and all associated folders to the trash and deleted them, but now when I try to install the new version 6.0.2 it says that there is nothing to install, as if itunes is there - but it is not.

How do I completely get rid of itunes so that I can reinstall?

Thanks!

Strange, did you empty the trash?

Are you trying to reinstall of a cd? Otherwise download itunes off apple's site

yeah - trash is empty and I downloaded the new version off the website, it is the one I am trying to run.

I do have the iLife '06 CD that I could try using...

Don't have iLife CD

What if I don't have an iLife CD? I am having the same problem as weeag had. I downloaded iTunes and when I tried to install it it said that there is nothing to install! Please help!

If you use Spotlight - assuming you have Tiger/OS X 10.4 - and search for "iTunes", what comes up?

about 185 things

but that includes 149 music files and 6 bookmarks...

so in all, it gives me 30 things:
3 apps
20 documents
6 folders
1 pdf document
