I'm going to London for a month and just bought an AT&T iPhone 3g. Are there any alternatives to unlock to the phone so I can use a UK operator's SIM card. I'm pretty sure the answer, at least as of right now, is no. I'd like to have a UK number while I'm over there, not to mention the AT&T International roaming charges are pretty high. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

There is no software unlock for iPhone 3G available yet.

You could buy one of the SIM card hacks and then use a pay as you go card.

There is lots of information about the SIM card adaptors on us.gizmodo.com - maybe you can find the best one on that gadget site and buy it and get it to work although there is no guarantee it will!
