Today I was attempting to flash a 5770 to load into my mac pro. Before making the actual attempt (Card never placed in) I checked that I could boot to dos, which was successful . After I powered down the machine and restarted it will not boot. Fans go into jet mode, no keyboard, no chime, no display output.

Anyone have any suggestions, advice, or Mac Pro's to offer ;)

Mac Pro 1,1
4GB Ram
640 GB HDD

Can you boot with your original video card (only) in the system? Also, what version of OS X are you running? 10.6.8, or something earlier?

So, you put a card in your Mac Pro, and then it wouldn't POST? Sounds like the Mac Pro doesn't like the card. If the card works in a PC, you'll likely need to flash it there.

Did you try to boot with the 5770 card or without the 5770 card when the mac is not booting?
If your trying with the 5770 GPU you are going to flash but you didn't do it yet just to try.
You cant, the 5770 GPU has a bios and not an efi.

The 5770 gpu you are going to flash "MUST" be flashed from a bios to a efi, on a windows PC.
And then the latest snow leopard version must be installed to be able to use the drives needed for your flashed GPU.
Otherways, the screen will just stay black..because there is no drivers for the 5770 GPU in earlier OS X.

REMEMBER: the speed of your 5770 GPU will only be at half the power. Because your mac has only a PCI Express x16 1.0 and not a PCI express x16 v2.0

If you cant get it to work
