This is about my order from macmall. I ordered MBA 13.3 inch tonight because they were offering free overnight-standard shipping thru fed-ex. I was happy because I am actually off tomorrow. So, I placed an order tonight to be delivered by tomorrow afternoon by 3PM because I planned to stay home to do some cleaning and etc. (Yes, my house is little mess.)

Macmall called me an hour later to confirm my order. They confirmed it with my billing address and my name. I told them, yea.. it's right. Thanks for verification. I told them to make sure it is delivery for tomorrow and they said, yes sir!

I was away from my phone for like 30 minutes and came back. I realized that macmall called me again. So, I was worried and called them back. They told me that my order will ship tomorrow and I will receive it by Friday.

I was angry because I have to work on Friday until like 6PM that day. I told them if they could ask fed ex guy to drop off only with my signature, and they said extra money blah blah. They started making excuses.

Boy... What do I do now? Please give me your advice.

Should I put it on hold to be shipped out later time or take a chance for Friday?

I live in Town house, so it can't be that bad, but I am concerned.

I am asking for advice, please do not think I am trying to flame. I am not. This is my last time shopping with macmall.

Usually when I want something the next day, I order it the morning before, not later in the day. You've got to allow them time to process your order. Remember you're not the only order their working on. Also if you read the terms & conditions of the stores policies, it usually allows them (any store) a day for processing before it ships. A few stores are geared to act faster like Amazon. Therefore I would not be mad. Instead see what you can do to adjust your availability to be there to sign on the day it's due. Also, you may not be aware that there are a few types of overnight shipping choices. FedEx delivers before 10am (the most expensive) before 3pm. And by the end of the next business day. That's most likely why they asked for more money.

I'm a bit ambivalent here. My experience was somewhat similar, but not exactly the same. I ordered in the early evening. However, my credit card company flagged the transaction and blocked approval. While I understand that's out of their control (and I appreciate my credit card company watching out for potential fraud), I was a little annoyed that MacMall didn't send me the e-mail letting me know the order was blocked until 9:00PM, right as their store was closing for the day. That said, I cleared things up with my credit card company and the order went out the next day. Sure, it came one day "late" but it did ship and I had no issues with the order itself.
