http://www.gizchina.com/2013/03/07/confirmed-neo-n003-to-be-cheapest-1080p-phone/

Getting the latest news about the upcoming Neo N003 quad-core phone has been extremely difficult, but after badgering our contact all week we can finally confirm a few things!

Neo N003 will be a 5-inch full HD phone. Earlier we had reported that Neo had announced a 720 resolution, and then were having a poll to see what customers wanted. It now appears the decision has been made and that the N003 will feature a 1920 x 1080 HD screen!Currently the cheapest 1080p phone on the market is the iOcean X7 ‘Youth’ at 999 Yuan ($160) but this will all change once the Neo N003 arrives on sale at prices starting at just 899 Yuan! ($144).

Wonder if the "low-cost" iPhone will match all these chinese quad-core phablets costing less than 200$ ?

Lol....specs are only part of the story....I'll sell you an Octa-core 4K phablet for $90.....oh but don't touch it or it'll fall apart.....

If Google has trouble with quality on the Nexus line, I can't imagine these are built well AT ALL.

Quad core chip means nothing on its own, especially if the chip is crap to start with.

It's like computer retailers still trying to sell the multi-cored Celeron in 2013.... A turkey is a turkey no matter how many turkeys are stacked together.......

And at $200 I can't imagine they use the best internals and if it does, saddling the device with a 1920x1080 screen will cripple it performance wise even more, and I expect that screen has terrible viewing angles....

You do get what you pay for....

As someone who flirted recently with the idea of purchasing a cheap Chinese knockoff (The Zopo 950) I'll just say you pay for what you get. After doing a ton of research it appears these cheap Chinese smartphones skimp on materials (no gorilla glass almost every time) and lie about the MP count of the cameras. If you want to discuss the future low cost iPhone, I would not look to knock off Chinese phones as a comparison.

As others have said, those off-brand Chinese knock-offs are cheap for a reason. I would rather put that money towards a GS4 than waste it on something that'll probably break within a month.

The new G series core based Pentium/Celeron are very good processors at a 50-100 dollar price point. Turkey's are now loaded with antibiotics and performance enhancers now!

about the chinese smarphones, it depends, the XIAOMI models have good reviews, their ROM MIUI is also a most wanted (especially by the Nexus 4 users :D ), check this thread about their last release:

Xiaomi imitated apple by controlling the software and the hardware

Yes but xiaomi is more expensive comparatively to these other Chinese phones.

Which is the point... You get what you pay for.
