Hi everyone!

I´m using Nero Recode 2 to convert some of my legally owned DVD's to watch on my Apple TV. The reason why I'm using Nero Recode is because I want to encode the audio in 5.1 AAC. I think the videoquality is great (using AVC Cinema @ 2500kbps) but I have one big problem, since english isn't my native language I want to use subtitles on my ripped DVD's. Most of the other DVD-to-MP4 software I've been using adds the subtitle to the videostream itself. But Nero seems to just add the subtitle to the MP4-container, and in order to see the subtitle you have to manually activate the subtitle (which, as far as I know, only is possible in Nero's mediaplayer Showtime).

Have anyone managed to rip a DVD with Nero Recode 2 and then see the subtitle when watching the movie on the Apple TV?

As of 4/9/07, the solution is to either hack your AppleTV, or burn the subtitles directly onto the video. Handbrake/Mediafork does this quite well.
