Nest Camera Notifications Killing iTunes Home Sharing Movie Playback

Here's one that has me perplexed.

On a mac laptop, connected via WiFi AC, watching a movie in iTunes via Home Sharing, streaming from our iMac iTunes home server on ethernet.

When the outside nest camera sees activity and sends notification to the IOS devices, the laptop loses the Home Sharing connection completely.

Any idea why this is happening?
