Has anybody installed this on their Iphone yet? This is one of the featured package in Cydia. So when I installed this, now I can see my Iphone thru my mac shared drive. So my questions is this, do I still need SSh? But when I was trying Netatalk, all I can see on my Iphone is bunch of folders, I cannot find that "/var" folder though, is it hidden? do I need to change settings on my folder view on my mac? 'Cause it'll be awesome if I can use this instead of SSh. I'm planning to transfer ROM NES games from my mac to Iphone, I read about how you can do that on SSH with Fugu but I'm trying to find other and easier way to do that. Your suggestion or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm new at this too..but heres me pulling it out of my butt.. Netatalk will only let the comp recognize your iphone as a hd and see it in the finder. In order to install themes or nes roms into /var/mobile you will need to SSH and cyberduck or fugu. ..I'm sure someone will come and elaborate or correct me if im wrong.

ssh is not that hard to do at all..

ok, so I just tried this app and it's so awesome! I didn't even have to install mobile terminal or SSH! I just installed this on my Iphone and then on my Mac I can now find my Iphone under shared drive and access it just like in SSH. I don't even need to install Fugu or anything else. It's pretty straightforward.

Using this, I downloaded ROMs for my NES app in the Iphone, created a folder in the Iphone to put this ROMs games, and from my Mac I copied the ROMs click and drag and to the Iphone and that's it! It works!

For some reason it won't let me log in as root, so it's pointless.

the only login that worked for me was
u: mobile
p: alpine

not sure what i did to make it show up in my mac.

that's it! that's how it worked for me. after you install netatalk, the localhost shared drive should automatically popout in your finder in a couple of seconds you should be able to connect as that login as default, now in order to change password, just follow the instruction in the Netatalk app.

nevermind - got it working now!

i'm not sure why yours says read only, I didn't even checked the permissions on mine, I just created a folder for my NES apps and it worked. do you wanna reinstall netatalk and try it again? you were able to connect to your iphone and see folders right?

I dragged the nes game contra to the right folder and got the game to show up but it also has a weird file that says something like doublecontra or something. any idea on what that is and how to get rid of it?

What folder did you drop it in??? I tryed to create a folder in media and I had no luck.

Anyones knows how to change the hostname for iPhone

It shows up as localhost by default. When I use the hostname <myhostname> command from terminal, the changes are lost upon a reboot.
Is there anyway to change the hostname and make it persistent?
