You can be pretty confident that many apps are going to have some issues as devs have only been able to code on simulators up to this point. Doubly so for applications that are all new and don't have a predecessor for iPhone/iPod such as Netflix.
It's the followup in the coming days and weeks with devs addressing bugfixes and usability issues that's going to separate the quality apps from the garbage. That's why I'm not buying any "all new" applications. Wait to see how the reviews go and if the devs are responsive to issues. Freebies such as Netflix I'll grab, but nothing else for the time being.
