So I’m having an odd issue since purchasing a new 12.9” iPad Pro the other day. The Netflix app doesn’t work, it spins and spins until it says I don’t have an Internet connection. I can’t even reach the Netflix website. Neither my iPhone, Apple TV nor my MBP has the same issues. Neither does my spouse on her gear.

I‘ve uninstalled any and all content blockers and I don’t use a VPN.

Any tips on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. I’ve never been more dumbfounded about a tech issue.

I'm assuming you are able to get to other websites on the iPad Pro in question? Have you tried restarting the iPad? Are you able to try it on another wi-fi network?

Yes. No dice

Correct. I’ve tried on my iPhone/Mac on the same network and that works.

I'm actually experiencing a crazy issue on my work network where I'm unable to access a certain website (my.1password.com) AT ALL on any mobile device, regardless of which mobile browser I use. I'm only able to connect to it on FireFox for macOS or Windows 10 (Firefox for iOS won't connect to it). Safari, Edge, and Chrome are unable to connect to it. As soon as I switch off wi-fi to mobile data, it works. Something to do with the site's security certificate.

Have you tried connecting using mobile data instead of wi-fi (if you don't have cellular with your iPad Pro, are you able to tether to your iPhone to test this out?) or try another wi-fi network (e.g. at someone else's house)?

Any chance of trying it on a different network?

I tried internet sharing from my iPhone (4G) and it still won’t work. But it does on my phone. Maybe Netflix has some strange issue I’m not sure.

Just tried tethering, see above. Will try taking the iPad to someone’s else house when I get the chance.

I just downloaded the Netflix app to my iPad Air 4 (iPadOS version 14.7.1) and it opens up fine when I'm connected to my local wi-fi network, and I can also access netflix.com just fine. I wonder if you have something installed on your iPad that affects network traffic and may be blocking something.

Do other streaming services work okay? Have you tried resetting your router? Is the issue the same if you’re closer to the router?

I had an issue a while ago where the internet connection was poor on my iPad and it frequently dropped. I managed to solve it by altering the settings on the router so that the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks were separate. When the networks were synchronised it was as if the iPad was trying to connect on 5GHz despite the signal being too weak.

Seen your comments about tethering not working so it probably is something ipad/app related.

Having done some more testing today I’m fairly sure this is an issue with my ISP. Seems all devices exhibit this issue just not always at the same time or even as often. Will try resetting my router next and if that doesn’t work I’ll call my ISP.
