Ok So I downloaded NetShare on my iPhone yesterday and I haven't gotten around to using it yet because A) I haven't needed to and B) I was/am weary about using it with at&t being anal retentive.

Now I am trying to use it and it's proving to be a no go. I have followed all of the directions completely correctly and redone everything over and over again many times...

Now my question is has anybody else been having problems like this? Could this have anything to do with the fact that it is pulled from the app store? Could it have to do with the fact that the app is not showing up on my mac in itunes? I'm not even sure why NetShare isn't on my mac, because I synced earlier today... But I don't think that would even be an issue.

So yea. Thanks for any help!

There is a guide in the forum and a link on the macrumors main news page so look around for it.

It works perfectly - the reasons you suggested do not effect it in any way!

You just have not set it up correctly!

Good luck!

basically all you need to do to get it to work if your trying everything and following the directions and your not getting it to work is first off if your using firefox make sure you have it set to proxy and second on your iphone right before u turn on netshare use the internet browser to get your connection active. make sure it works to connect to a page and then go into netshare. if that doesnt work i dunno. im no expert but that worked for me.

I was having a problem with my 2G iPhone where NetShare would sometimes work and sometimes not work. The solution to this was to close NetShare on the iPhone and open Safari and browse to any website. This switched it from wifi to Edge. Then I close Safari and reopen NetShare and voila, it works.

I can't believe I missed the short window of availability for NetShare; it looks like it is gone for good this time. I wish the JB procedure would have worked for me, but that Pwnage program never actually did anything--it compiled the decrypted JB firmware, but could never update my phone with it.

Pwnage doesn't update your phone with it, iTunes does.

You have to put your phone in DFU mode and use iTunes to restore your phone with the "pwned" firmware that Pwnage creates.

All pwnage does is create a custom firmware package.

Do you need help?
