I've been trying this for more than a day and can't seem to get it working. I've used this link for instructions: http://falaris.com/?p=154

After I setup the adhoc connection in my wireless tab, I cannot seem to find it in the wifi networks on the iphone. what am i doing wrong. I even tried setting up the IP Address on tcp/ip.

I've tried this on 2 other laptops. total 3 and same result. I must be missing a step. Can someone help please :(

I think I got it. I disconnected form my home network and the netshsare was visible from the iphone. I'll post back an update

I got it to work using these instructions. http://falaris.com/?p=154
except i didn't do static ip. I left dhcp as I don't have to mess around with the IP settings once the network is switched.

Now everytime the phone goes into sleep mode, the internet disconnects. Is there a way around this?

You're supposed to set the iPhone to "never" go to sleep in settings - general.
