I just found the NetShare.ipa that i got awhile ago when i was cleaning out an old hard drive. I installed it in Itunes but it won't let me sync it with my Iphone. I get an unknown error (0xE8008001). Does anyone know of a way to get the app recognized onto my phone.

Just a note I have no intention of jail breaking my phone.

Im running the latest firmware, but netshare is only on the first revision so I'm not sure if it would work. Thats why I'm asking the masses. Hopefully someone has an answer to my situation.

netshare was on the appstore for a day, until apple realized it was a tethering app, and the iphone wasnt allowed to have tethering on at&t.

Yes, I guess he was one of the few that was able to purchase and download it before Apple pulled the plug.
Also I forgot to mention make sure you try to sync it using the same itunes account that you purchased it with assuming you purchased it legit thru itunes.
If you found it online and just downloaded it from someplace else it wont work/sync with your phone unless its jailbroken.

arent apps .ipa files? an unjailbroken iphone runs a test to see if the app has been authorized by apple...according to apple. thats why i can install my own apps from the iphone sdk, without paying apple 100 bucks. i dont need provisioning files and crap if im jailbroken. =)

Netshare does work on 3.1.3 because I have it and use it when I need to, have you tried adding it to your iTunes library??

Double click on the ipa file and it should add it in your iTunes library then just sync it to your phone..

How long ago did Netshare first came out? I wonder if its compatible
with 3.1+ firmware.
What software version are you running?

I have had netshare 'officially' since it was first released. It has never stopped working, and has remained in my applications section of iTunes despite various iTunes and operating system upgrades.

It still works on iphone 3.1.2 without any issue.

Given the error code the OP is getting, iTunes is under the impression it is not an 'official' downloaded application.

I did buy it originally knowing it would be cool to have and would not last long in the app store. I only had a touch back then so i bought it but put the file onto an external harddrive. Now that I have an iphone and got my drive back i went to just load it back up. Im looking for how to load it on my iphone without having to jailbreak it.

Yes, that's probably what it is.
He's trying to sync a cracked ipa on a stock firmware iPhone. It's not happening.
