Resolved network access coming back from sleep

Hey,

The issue Im having is when the imac comes back from sleep it takes a while for the ethernet to come back on, sometimes 3-5 mins. I then have to turn on the wifi to get network access. Is this normal?

I've checked the energy saver in system preferences and all that is off. I've also bought new cat 6 cables and still the issue remains.

It appears to be a bug in Mavericks. I have the same problem coming back from sleep on my MacBook Air.
